Moving house checklist

• Ensure the mover has all your contact details
• Dispose of any items you don’t want to take
• Clarify to the mover if there are any changes to what is to be moved since the initial survey
• Run down the content of your freezer
• Arrange a carpet fitter to lift and or fit where necessary
• Book the disconnection of main services
• Cancel all rental agreements

• Notify change of address: doctor, dentist, optician, vet etc
• Inform your bank, saving/share accounts, credit card etc
• Inform services: water, gas, electricity, phone, satellite, TV Licence
• Renew driving licence, car registration, passport
• Arrange Royal Mail to redirect post
• Clear the loft
• Organise parking at the new property

• Dismantle any items that you have not arranged for the remover to do
• Take down any fixtures or fittings and make good the walls
• Plan where things are to go in the new home
• Cancel the milk and papers
• Send new address cards/ emails to friends and family
• Separate jewellery, money and paperwork
• Find and label keys
• Put together a basic catering pack for moving day and first night in your new home
